FALL 2023
Newsletter
Dear SOS Family,
Ministry, Ministry, Ministry! Everywhere you look there is ministry. If you were to ask me what is happening at SOS, that would be my answer. When Jesus said that the fields were white unto harvest, I don’t know exactly what He was seeing, but I believe I am seeing a glimpse of that here at SOS. God is blessing the fruit of our labors. All the years of painstaking, heartbreaking, tear-shedding work is now resulting in a reaping of monumental proportion. Every ministry is seeing sweet blessing of fruit. We are praising God for all that He is doing.
The result of such blessing is that the workload and financial demands on the ministry are big and at times overwhelming. But as God had cared for the people of Israel throughout their 40 years in the wilderness, God is caring for us.
I can honestly say that this year has probably been the sweetest year of my 17 years of ministry in Uganda. The love on the campus, the unity among the staff and missionaries, the deepened fellowship among the believers, and richness of the ministry has made this year very special. Thank you to every one of you that enables this ministry to happen. You are making an incredible impact.
So in accordance with Jesus’ request, please join us in beseeching the Lord of the Harvest to send us more laborers to help us. And be praying for the Lord’s continued provision. This next year is a very big year for us. We are starting our residential bachelor degree program (which will add 15 families and another 15 singles to our campus and local church - an estimated 100 new people), completing the construction of our new local church, and adding another grade level to our secondary school. So your prayers and advocacy are greatly appreciated.

INTRODUCING
Shepherds Training College

On May 22, 2023 the STC Principal’s Office received official notice from the National Council of Higher Education in Uganda that our Certificate of Christian Ministry program has been awarded NCHE accreditation! Praise be to the Lord on high!
While we do not seek the approval of man but rather of God, it is our sincere prayer that God would use this man-made accreditation status to strengthen our school, our students, and ultimately the ministries of our beloved students which we serve. Our hope is firmly in the Lord, and he has seen fit to allow us greater worldly influence and opportunity by providing this accreditation. Let us not squander this opportunity but leverage it for Christ's glory in advancing his work in the world. We are so thankful to the Lord for his answer to our prayers. Please pray with us that this accreditation will serve only to advance the gospel of Jesus Christ!
INTRODUCING
Dr. Paul Sewagudde
SOS MEDICAL CENTER

We are overjoyed to have Dr. Paul Sewagudde join the SOS team. Dr. Paul is married to Sylvia, and they have three children: Lemuel (7), Phanuel (4), Splendour (1). He joins SOS with over 12 years of experience in primary healthcare and healthcare management.
Dr. Paul shared, "I am passionate about Christian Discipleship and Healthcare Missions, using healthcare as a gateway to ministering Christ to people, families and communities. Since 2015, I have served with a Ugandan based Missions Agency sending local professionals to the least-reached people groups to serve as missionary health workers.
I am now greatly excited to be part of building a high-quality health facility at SOS Ministries, to care for the sick in this underserved rural community, helping people know the love of Christ and hear the Gospel. My ultimate goal is to see everyone in this community receive all the needed healthcare services, of very high quality and affordably; and in the process get to know Christ."
Legacy Christian Academy
LCA ADDS GRADE 9

In February 2023, Legacy Christian Academy added Grade 9! We were very excited to add 4 new secondary teachers! We asked them why they are excited to be working at LCA!
I am excited to work at Legacy Christian High school because it is an ideal Christian atmosphere for teaching spiritual growth. I am also thankful that SOS pays our salaries in a timely manner every month. | Rogers Wamboyo, Biology/Chemistry Teacher
Legacy puts Christ at the center of learning which gives purpose to teaching since as Christians we are called to make disciples. Teacher’s rights and suggestions are supported at Legacy and unity and cooperation are emphasized which makes it a great work environment. | Allan Byaruhanga, Computer Teacher
Serving in a Christian environment excites me. At Legacy I always feel welcomed and served. Teaching provides me with an opportunity to express my love for sports and helps me to know more about the students that I serve. | Andrew Byaruhanga, Athletic Enrichment
I am excited to work for Legacy because of the accommodations that the school provides and the opportunity to grow and develop my career. I am thankful for the opportunity to be taught God’s word. | Wilbroad Rwabwogo, Physics/Math Teacher
Community Bible Church
CHURCH BUILDING UPDATE

On November 6, 2022 we held a groundbreaking ceremony to celebrate the building of our new Community Bible Church of Kubamitwe! This new facility will be able to hold approximately 1,200 congregants each Sunday. This will be helpful for when we host conferences.
In May, the church project accomplished a major milestone with the completion of the foundation, exactly six months after breaking ground. We praise God for the progress so far on the building. We are currently waiting for the steel beams to be fabricated and delivered to the site for installation. The steel is expected to arrive in September or October.
While the church building is on hold, we began work in July on the new front entrance for the ministry. It has been strategically designed to make the new church be the focal point of our campus, which is the "pillar and buttress of the truth."
Construction around other parts of the campus has continued as well, including Legacy classrooms, Legacy teacher housing, and STC family housing. In July we completed construction on a second classroom building which we began in January for the Legacy secondary school.
