Dear Faithful Sponsor,
In our last ministry newsletter we shared that after a span of nearly two years of sporadic interruptions due to Covid-19, all of our ministries here at SOS are back up and running!
On January 17th we welcomed back over 500 Legacy Christian Academy students, and the first two months are off to an incredible start. We are so thankful for each of you and the part you play in making this ministry a reality! We hope you are encouraged by this brief Legacy update.
For the King & His Kingdom,
Shannon Hurley
In February a team came to Uganda and spent a few days taking pictures of each of our students. What fun it was to capture their joy and smiling faces! A few US volunteers are working on preparing to send you an updated picture of your sponsor child, which you should be receiving in early May.
Shepherding Young Hearts
The Quest for Truth in the Classroom

2022 is an especially significant year, as it marks the beginning of Legacy Christian High School.
As our Headmaster, Solomon Kavuma, and his team began to carefully build the high school curriculum, intentional discipleship for these older students was heavy on the hearts of our faculty and staff.
We want every child in our community to confidently read, write, and think, but our greatest desire is that each student will take what they learn in the classroom and apply it to following after Jesus.
This desire is why Solomon and his team decided to incorporate a class into the high school curriculum in which Solomon teaches and guides our high schoolers through the content in our Founder's book, The Quest for Truth.
In just two months it has been amazing to watch our high schoolers work their way through crucial questions about God, the gospel and faith. Please pray for these students, that the faith of those who have already believed in Jesus would be strengthened, and that the hearts of those who have not yet believe would be softened.
Student & Staff Highlight
Student Highlight | Ronald Ntege

Twelve year-old Ronald Ntege is an easy-going, soccer-loving 5th grader whose favorite subject is science. He seems like a typical Ugandan child living in a rural village. But a recent conversation with Ronald revealed a remarkably mature twelve-year old.
Click below to learn more about Ronald and to take a walk through the Bible with a Legacy Christian Academy student.
Staff Highlight | Sarah Nakigozi

Sarah Nakigozi is passionate about loving students, knowing that the love these children receive is the only love that some of them experience. Sarah can relate firsthand, as her own parents gave her up at the age of three to be raised by a distant aunt.
Read how the Lord has brought Sarah to LCA and uniquely equipped her to love and care for students and teachers.
Fun Fact | What's the weather like?
Uganda's climate is tropical with two rainy seasons and two dry seasons. Currently a dry season is coming to end, which means our community is preparing to plant their crops. As soon as the first rain comes and softens the ground, our students and their families begin planting their crops.
