FAMILY UPDATE
Dear Friends,
When we left America just 16 years ago, the Hurley family looked considerably different from today. When we first moved to Uganda, we came with a 6 year-old, 3 year-old, and a 3 month-old. We could easily fit in a small sedan, on one couch, and in one hotel room. 16 years later, our family has added 5 adopted children and dozens of foster children. We don’t even fit at the dining room table!

We are thankful for the growth of our family in size and age, but with growth comes change. As I write, we are preparing to launch our 2 sons, Zeek and Ethan. They have enrolled at The Master’s University, 9,393 miles from our home in Uganda. Needless to say, this transition is bittersweet. We know that children need to leave the nest and enter the next stage of development, but we will certainly miss 2 of our best friends. Zeek and Ethan have used their short years to invest in their siblings, church, and community. Their absence will be keenly felt.

The Hurley extended family passed the tissue box as they sent off Zeek and Ethan to college.
Instead of grieving what we are losing, we are resolved to focus on what God has given. Our good Father has given us many sweet years with our incredible sons. And now they have the opportunity to grow academically and spiritually in a Christ-centered environment. What more could parents ask for? God has been so faithful to our family.

FAMILY PRAYER REQUESTS
Please pray that our boys will adjust smoothly to American and college life.
Please pray that they will be able to process cultural differences biblically.
Please pray for us back in Uganda as we adjust to life without our boys and for God’s blessing as we continue to disciple the many children in our home.
