April 2026

This is some text inside of a div block.

Dear friend,

Another year is now well underway! And the school is bursting at the seams. We just added Senior 5 (which is comparable to an American Junior year of high school) and reloaded our kindergarten class to maximum capacity. We just finished building two 10-plex buildings to house more teachers. We are now working on our administration building and two classroom blocks for our secondary school. We are also planting grass on the secondary school’s new football pitch. We are praising God for all that He is doing.

I hope you’ll enjoy LCA’s following updates:

MEET DOREEN

With great excitement, we have uploaded 60 new students needing to be sponsored. Here is one example:

My name is Doreen Nalubowa and I live in the village of Ntebbe with my grandparents. My favorite Bible verses are Psalm 23:1-6. In my free time I enjoy drawing pictures. When I finish my education at Legacy Christian Academy I would like to become a teacher!

Doreen and 60 other students are available for sponsorship. Legacy Sponsorship is a sweet opportunity to care for an underprivileged child in Uganda physically and spiritually.

For $45 a month, you can be a source of reliable meals, health services, high-quality education, and deep discipleship for a student. You can truly change a life! Take a look at our amazing Legacy students right here:

LCA VISION IS HAPPENING

When I first came to our community of Kubamitwe nobody knew the English language. This was despite the fact that English was the national language and that all education and national exams were carried out in English.  And as I looked into the eyes of the kids in my community, I was burdened that something had to be done.

The problems were: 1. I knew nothing about education or how to run a school. 2. Our community had no basic infrastructure. 3. I had no resources to make it happen. When I came stateside, I engaged two people that have become some of Danielle’s and my dearest friends, Tim and Donna Borruel. This couple, who are education experts, advised that we start with a kindergarten and we add one level each year. They also came out to Uganda to advise us on how to launch it. Without Tim and Donna there is no way Legacy Christian Academy would be here. They are truly heroic to the whole SOS community. And because of God using them, we are now educating close to 900 children.

When we started in 2012, I thought, how am I going to build classrooms and teaching housing? Where am I going to get teachers? How am I going to get the money to build this institution? I honestly did not have the answers to these questions. We just built the first classrooms with faith that the Lord would provide what was needed, when it was needed. And every year, I stood amazed that God provided for not only the building, but also for the cost of the education. God has been so faithful.

I knew that the greatest way to impact our community was by establishing a school. But I could not have imagined the extent of the impact. Through Legacy lives are being radically changed…for eternity!  Thank you for supporting this ministry and for being the means through which God would provide for our needs.
